Outdoor Headshots + Branding in Milwaukee’s Third Ward
A professional update with Oscar in one of my favorite parts of the city
I recently had the chance to work with Oscar for an outdoor headshot and personal branding session in Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward. He was looking to update his professional photos with something modern, natural, and reflective of his personality—and this session checked every box.
We took a walk through the Third Ward during golden hour, making the most of the soft, even light. This part of the city has such a great mix of urban texture and calm spots, which made it perfect for what we were going for: a polished but approachable look with a little variety.
Why we chose the Third Ward
The Third Ward has become one of my favorite locations for outdoor sessions like this. The clean lines, neutral tones, and interesting architectural details give a professional feel without being too stiff. We also made sure to include a few touches of greenery throughout, which helped soften the overall look.
To finish off the session, we went up to a parking garage for some shots with the skyline in the background. It gave us a wider city view and helped add variety to the gallery while still keeping it cohesive.
A mix of headshots and personal branding
Oscar wanted images he could use for LinkedIn, work profiles, and any future business or speaking opportunities. We kept the posing natural and focused on capturing a mix of:
- Close-up, eye-level headshots
- Mid- and full-body portraits
- Some walking and casual leaning poses to show movement and confidence
The goal was to give him a set of images that felt clean, current, and professional—but also like himself. No awkward posing, no forced smiles.
